HG Systems Ltd was established in 1979, originally providing Process Control Systems to the British and American Coal Industries. HG Systems has grown to become one of the largest and longest established independent System Integration companies in the United Kingdom.

HG Systems provide total life cycle implementation and support of industrial automation systems from concept, through design and development, testing, installation, commissioning, training and maintenance. The scale of solutions and services supplied ranges from small standalone systems to enterprise scale process control and information management systems. HG Systems expertise has been applied in a diverse range of applications, in many market sectors and in all international regions. Their solutions are integrated using commercially available hardware and software from the worlds' leading vendors of industrial automation and information management technology.

HG Systems operate from three offices in the UK and employ 80 full-time staff. Its engineers hold Health and Safety and product training certification in addition to formally recognised academic qualifications that are relevant to the activities they are assigned to perform. The company's internal and external training and certification programme ensures engineers are able to adopt new technologies and the company's growth and high staff retention ensure current and legacy system technologies are fully supported. A project manager is appointed on each project to manage, report and liaise with the client to ensure every project is delivered in accordance with the requirements specification, on programme and within budget.

HG Systems has supplied solutions and services utilising Wonderware technology since the original release of InTouch® in 1987. Project examples include the latest InTouch® 10.0, including upgrades from previous versions and migration from other vendor software. Other Wonderware applications include Wonderware Historian, InTrack^TM, InBatch^TM, ActiveFactory^TM reporting and analysis, OEE, DT Analyst, System Platform, Operations and Performance.
