SolutionsPT in the Community
As you may, or may not know, SolutionsPT was founded on 1st September 1985 and so in September 2010 reached the milestone of 25 years in business. This is a tremendous achievement and one of which we can all be very proud. Coupled with this, February 2011 marked our 20th year of being a Wonderware distributor - giving us a double celebration of consistency and persistence! To celebrate our success and achievements, we like to Give Back to the Community through an ongoing focus on raising money for Charity and participating in Community projects. 2 December 2011
On 2 December 2011, a selection of brave and enthusiastic SolutionsPT Employees pushed their fitness levels to the limit by taking part in a running, cycling and rowing extravaganza to raise money for The Wood Street Mission - a local Charity that helps provide clothing, bedding, baby equipment and toys for underpriviledged children.
A rowing machine, exercise bike and treadmill were set up and the group challenges included:

Running the length of the London Marathon: 26.2 miles

Cycling 8 laps of the Champs-Elysees (The final stage of the Tour De France): 30 miles

Rowing 3 times the length of The University Boat Race: 12 miles
For each task completed successfully SolutionsPT donated £50 to the Charity. The total raised for The Wood Street Mission was £804.79

Friday, 5 August was nominated a "dress down" day at SolutionsPT, and Managers were invited to dress in a nautical theme to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Dressed to impress as sailors and pirates, Managers were assessed by employees, who voted for the worst dressed Manager. The loser made a donation to the RNLI, as did all employees who participated in the "dress down" theme.
The RNLI commented on Twitter: "Ahoy there! Excellent costumes! Thank you all very much indeed for your support."
To raise further funds for the RNLI, whilst at the same time improving customer service, employees have been invited to submit their ideas over the summer months for improving customer service. They stand to win £200 worth of vouchers as well as a day off work, whilst for every idea submitted, SolutionsPT will donate £5 to the RNLI.

SolutionsPT held a Strawberry Tea Day in the office in aid of Breast Cancer Care. Employees dressed down in pink or red, and brought in their home-baked cakes which were sold to their work colleagues. A raffle was held to win an amazing cake made by Jill White (see the photo in the gallery) and all proceeds totalling £460.24 were donated to BC Care.

Seven of our employees volunteered their time, energy and enthusiasm to help St Ann's Hospice create a garden at the Royal Horticultural Society Tatton Flower Show. Entitled Embrace, the garden celebrated the 40th anniversary of St Ann's Hospice in Manchester and was designed by up and coming garden designer Sharen Hockenhull. July 2010 Black Diamonds Motorcycle Club - Annual Custom Bike Show
As Treasurer of the Black Diamonds Motorcycle Club, Pete, our IT Support Engineer, recently organised their Annual Custom Bike Show to help raise money for Help for Heroes. Activities at this family day out included a bouncy castle, face painting, traders, local bike builders, a well-stocked bar, a motorbike training school and a band called the 5th Element, who made sure the evening was a night to remember.
July 2010 Anoush Memorial Foundation Annual Golf Day
The SolutionsPT Golf Society members supported the Anoush Memorial Foundation annual golf day, helping to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. Each player donated a £50 contribution to enter and all proceeds went to the charity.
June 2010 The Three Peaks Challenge Yacht Race
100% powered by sail, running and cycling legs! Sailing 389 miles - Running 59 miles - Cycling 30 miles
A Team of 5 was assembled from Helsby Running Club and SolutionsPT to sail from Barmouth, via Caernarfon, to climb Snowdon, on to Whitehaven to climb Scafell Pike and finally on to Fort William to climb Ben Nevis. The team set sail at 16:00 hours on Saturday 19th June and the money raised was donated to local hospices and SOS children.
June 2010 Snowdon Charity Challenge
Breast Cancer is a charity close to all our hearts, and in one way or another it has affected us or our friends and family at some point. A group of SolutionsPT employees and our friends conquered the grand heights of Snowdon on 12th June 2010 dressed as Pink 80's wannabes!! Wearing mostly spandex, wigs, leg warmers, and walking boots (for safety reasons), the team pushed their fitness boundaries to the absolute limit.
June 2010 Buxton Half Marathon
One employee at SolutionsPT decided to take upon the challenge of the Buxton Half Marathon, The race took place on Sunday 6 June, starting near Buxton Opera House and finishing on the Pavilion Garden Promenade.
May - September 2010 Manchester Bike Challenge
Keeping in the spirit of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, five SolutionsPT employees teamed together for the "Manchester Bike Challenge", which comprises 4 bike events all starting from Manchester and totalling a challenging 243 miles.
